1.0 Those Present : Steve Love; Mike Porter; Dave Stubbs; Alison Stubbs; Alan Forse; Richard Greeves; Lyn Porter 2.0 Apologies for Absence : Steve Lombard; Glenn Floyd3.0 Minutes of Previous Meeting : Read and agreed as a true record.4.0 Matters Arising : None 5.0 President’s Report : Congratulations to Dave Stubbs & Richard Greeves for winning SCPA Summer Doubles and for finishing runners up in EPA Champion of Champions, Shedfield Doubles & SCPA Doubles; and to Richard & Simon Greeves for finishing runners up in Admiral Autumn & Limesdowne Doubles. -The SCPA won the Inter-Regional Championships at Brean Sands on 17-20 September. Congratulations to the Cobbetts teams that took part in this success.-Congratulations to all members of our 9-a-side & 6-a-side for their achievements in the leagues this year. I will leave the team captains to give you the results.-Continued thanks to Lyn for managing the catering arrangements for the SCPA 9-a-side Salver and the fireworks night, and thanks to all that provided assistance in the kitchen including Ali, Sian, Sue and Mike. Thanks also to Steve for making sure that the bar was open at all hours and adequately stocked with fine ales.-Thanks also to Mike for organising the fireworks evening and risking life and limb to light the fireworks.-The above events keep Cobbetts name on the map and provide valuable funds for the club activities.The Grant Monitoring and Evaluation Form has been completed and returned to the HIWCF. I did invite them to inspect the completed work and/or bring a team to play. No response so I consider the matter closed. I will keep hold of the paperwork in case we apply for another grant.6.0 Treasurer’s Report : 6.1 The Treasurer reported that the accounts showed assets of £2,500.00 which with outstanding items of a debit of £275 to BSSC forfield fees and a credit of £800 sponsorship from Medems, still left a net profit for the year. He queried if it should be put to the AGM to decide what to do with the profit. It was felt that there were two options : i] Reduce club fees ii] Retain for future improvements to the terrain. It was decided to inform the AGM that the committee will be investigating the practicalities of covering the terrain and the creation of some form of indoor terrain and to ask that funds be reserved. He then reported that the 9/ Side Salver had returned a profit of £130.006.2 Club membership now stood at 35 adults. 6.3 No other business to report.7.0 Secretary’s Report : 7.1 Forthcoming events : (Removed)7.2 Club Events : (Removed) 7.3 Correspondence & Other Business : None 8.0 Captains’ Reports : 8.1 9/Side ‘A’ (DS): 7 wins from 8 : 1st. 6/Side ‘A’ (DS): 8 wins from 14 : 3rd 6/Side ‘B’ (MP): 9 wins from 12 : 1st. 9/Side ‘Extras’ (MP): 3 wins from 10 : 5th8.2 RG said that he had noted a greater cohesion and consistency in the league sides and at club nights.9.0 Terrain Maintenance : 9.1 The Secretary was detailed to find the price and suppliers of single-size grit of all varieties and of 3mm>dust Limestone scalpings. ACTION : HonSec 9.2 Various suggestions were made on methods of resurfacing and restringing to ensure a level surface was achieved.9.3 RG asked for old coches so that he could produce new score-board pegs.10.0 New Members : 10.1 Paula and Barbara were welcomed to the club.11.0 Items for Discussion : 11.1 It was decided that the matter of league team composition should be forwarded for general discussion to the AGM.11.2 AJF took charge of all paperwork concerning grants for future reference.11.3 Poppy Doubles Duties : (Removed)11.4 Next Meeting : Thurs 27.01.11 / 8pmThere being no other business, the meeting closed at 9.54 pm
